Youtube has over 2 billion users worldwide and 79% of internet users have an Youtube account. Most people don’t realize it’s the 2nd largest search engine in world. Of course, we’re not talking about yourself! You’ve understood the marketing power of Youtube and are here searching for tools to you help follow and analyze the progress of your content! And we have the solution, read on.
KPIBees is a Google Sheet Add-on that enables you to retrieve data and statistics from your favorite tools to Google Sheets. And, of course, there’s also a Youtube connector that helps you visualize stats for your videos and channels, as well as your competitors!
First you need to install the Google Sheet Add-on KPIBees. Follow these easy steps:
Go to the KPIBees Gsuite Marketplace listing and install the Google Sheets Add-on.

Grant access to KPIBees on your Google account – we are GDPR compliant!

Open any google spreadsheet and go to Add-ons in the page menu and click on Launch.

Click on the Youtube Analytics integration.
The first type of Youtube query that you can import to Google Sheets is called Youtube Video Analytics (Videos). You simply need to input the ids of the youtube videos you want to import, for example video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zfycY8hNNiU has ID=zfycY8hNNiU. After you’ve added the videos that you are interested in, you need to select the Fields that you are interested, like title, thumbnail, number of likes and so on. Then you can created the query.
The output of the query is displayed bellow. KPIBees imported to the selected spreadsheet cell details about the videos that can help you analyze your Youtube marketing progress. Feel free to experiment with more available Fields!
Another way to analyze Youtube content is with the Youtube Channel Analytics option (Channels). You need to input Youtube channel ids. For example, the KPIBees channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCC3HmpFen0McyRNoOzFFazA/) has ID=UCC3HmpFen0McyRNoOzFFazA. After you’ve added the desired channels, you can press the Create Query button.
The query resulted is imported in the selected spreadsheet cell! As you can see we’ve retrieve the Youtube channel requested information as well as the thumbnail of the channel so that we can easily identify the items!
Once you’ve create your Youtube Analytics queries, you can set automatic refresh times so that you always get the latest stats on the Youtube content you are following. To add a refresh trigger, simply go to the “Notifications & data refresh” menu!Whenever a refresh is performed, KPIBees can also send an email or slack notifications with the refreshed data in pdf format.
